The 2024 Menu: Bodycare Favorites by Consumer Digest
You are what you eat—and what you put on your body.
2024 has been about becoming the chicest version of myself, hence the birth of the “Chic, Conscious, Consumer”. This year, I’ve found that this version of myself has tested and refined taste. I have curated life long friend ships, additions to my closet from The Real Real and of course a killer beauty line up. I bring to you the 2024 Consumer Digest Menu - All of my favorite products I have tested and vetted for months on end and carefully selected. I’ve spent years trying product after product for “fun”, chasing something better than the previous. This year I have found products that have not been topped.
Why a menu?
Well Consumer Digest was created to think about our diets as more than just what we eat—it’s about the fashion we wear, the beauty we indulge in, the skincare we trust, and the media we consume. All of these choices shape our health, just as much as what we put on our plates.
And really, what’s more curated than a menu?
Let’s Digest!
Let’s Get Into Some Starters
Naturium Glow Getter Body Wash
If there’s one body wash that epitomizes “it girl” status, it’s Naturium’s Glow Getter. Everyone I know who’s serious about beauty and style is obsessed with it. Not only does it lather like a dream, but it’s packed with my favorite hero ingredient—glycerin. I’d go as far as to say this product paved the way for other glycerin-based bodycare items to shine, like Prequel’s Gleanser and Experiments Super Saturated.
Osea Body Scrub and Mutha Body Scrub
Body scrubs are my skincare love language, and I've found two holy grails that will be in my routine forever. I love an exfoliating and moisturizing scrub that eradicates dry skin and emphasizes a Sports Illustrated bikini runway ready glow. Both Osea’s Salts of the Earth and Mutha’s Nudist Body Scrub are my go-tos for scrubbing away dry skin while giving me that post-spa glow. Think of it like giving your body a luxury car wash—shiny, smooth, and ready for anything.

Topicals Slather
If you struggle with dry, bumpy skin, Topicals Slather is your new best friend. This product has everything—urea, retinol, glycolic acid, and lactic acid. It’s a dream for anyone who wants to smooth and nourish their skin at the same time.
Amlactin Intensive Healing Cream
Let’s talk about Amlactin Intensive Healing Cream—this is the body exfoliator you never knew you needed. With 15% lactic acid, it works wonders on uneven skin texture. It has this creamy, almost ointment-like feel, which, as discussed in The Skincare Menu, is my absolute jam.
Bianco Latte Body Lotion
I couldn’t resist carrying my love for Bianco Latte from fragrance to bodycare. The sweet vanilla-caramel scent pairs perfectly with its rich, moisturizing properties. It’s an ideal base for layering fragrances and making them last longer. Plus, it’s great on its own.
Deon Libra Big Up Body Glaze
Deon Libra’s Big Up Body Glaze is the secret weapon to a glowing, radiant body. After the 2023 Met Gala, when the internet collectively went on a hunt to find what gave Anok Yai that insane glow, while the culprit is still debated I’ve found something that gives a similar look. The Deon Libra Big Up Body Glaze will make you look like the sun shimmers off of your collar bones and shoulders – just like Anok. that Apply it and feel like you’re walking through golden hour—effortlessly glowing.
Anything on the Side?
Lush Turmeric Latte Body Bar
2024 was the year of the bar – bar soaps, bar exfoliants, body bars. It was also the year of Lush, so naturally the Lush Body Bars became a staple for me.I particularly LOVE the Turmeric Latte Body Bar, it has everything I love: vanilla, tea, tonka beans. The bar itself feels like a massage and acts as a selfcare ritual that preps me for bed or anything.
African Net Sponge
I love a good simple product that enhances others – it’s like a friend that makes others better. The African Net Sponges are the best bodycare tools! I love that they stretch out like a towel, making it easy to get your back and exfoliate everywhere. Using this along with the Naturium Glow Getter wash brings the perfect harmony to your shower. The sponge helps to enhance the super gentle body wash by adding an element of physical exfoliation.

Eclectic Lady Vanilla Berries Body Oil
Does anybody else have moments that randomly lead you to something or someone that changes you? Whether that be actually life changing or just something that you love.I found Eclectic Lady on Amazon when looking for a body product to pair with The House of Oud’s “What About Pop?” – a popcorn scented perfume. Through this search I found the perfect body oil “Vanilla Berries”. A while ago Tiktok was enthralled by Amazon scented perfume oils, many Tiktokers raving about these gold encrusted bottles of perfume oil. I tried some to see what the hoopla was about… they all sucked. However, Eclectic Lady’s “Vanilla Berries” did everything that those viral videos described. It literally smells like a luxurious woman draped in silk being hand fed fruit while she lays across a velvet couch.
Aveeno Body Oil
For a more accessible yet equally luxurious option, Aveeno’s Body Oil is my go-to. It’s the perfect middle ground for those who want a shine without feeling greasy. It absorbs beautifully and leaves your skin looking radiant without disappearing into the ether.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid
Finally, let’s talk about The Ordinary Glycolic Acid. While I have some strong opinions on deodorant (but that’s a post for another day), I’ll say this: I’ve been using glycolic acid under my arms for years, and it’s been a total game-changer. It keeps things smooth, bright, and fresh—without the usual fuss.
A Night Cap Before the Bar Closes?
Victoria Beckham Beauty Perfumes
Celebrity beauty brands often get a bad rap, don’t they? It’s like they’re a necessary evil that everyone loves to hate. But, every now and then, one of these brands pulls a Scrooge —rising from the ashes and really surprising you. And this year? That redemption arc came courtesy of Victoria Beckham Beauty. But while I’ll get into the makeup later, let’s take a moment to appreciate the olfactory magic that is Portofino ‘97 and 21:50 Reverie. These two fragrances earned a spot in Consumer Digest this fall — leaving me and everyone around me captivated. These have scenic names whisking you away to your own vision of the opulent landscapes Mrs. Beckham drew inspiration from. Whether that be Portofino or Virginia Beach or a Jazz Club in Paris or Bar Hopping in NYC. These do an incredible job of elevating not just celebrity brands but the entire fragrance game.
Bal D’Afrique
Byredo is one of my mom’s favorite brands so I often stay out of her lane, despite being around Bal D’Alfrique for YEARS I never really gave it time. This year while stealing paper towels and stuff to stock my pantry from my parents I ventured into my mom’s vanity and perfumes. A vintage bottle of Bal D’Afrique came home with me that day. The cap half broken and sticky finger prints all over the label, I have since added more love to my preloved Bal D’Afrique.
BonBonPop
In 2024, I became best friends with Scent Bar. After a pact with myself to stop blind-buying fragrances, my perfume game evolved. But early in this newfound perfume consciousness, I discovered two of my top three fragrances for the year—one of which I’m saving for a later post. For now, let’s talk about BonBonPop. This scent? It’s me in a bottle. From the look of the bottle to the way it shifts on the skin, it’s a fragrance journey that feels both timeless and seasonal. It’s versatile enough to wear year-round, but with a sweetness that makes it perfect for colder months. It’s the type of fragrance that blends beautifully with others, too.
Snif’s Heal The Way
When I think of comfort fragrances, Snif’s Heal The Way takes the crown. This scent feels like that perfect cozy night in: matching pajamas, a comfort meal, your favorite show, and freshly laundered sheets. Pistachio was everywhere in 2023 and 2024, but this one? This is the gold standard. It’s a gourmand fragrance that’s rich but never cloying, balanced perfectly with the spa-like calm of Palo Santo. It’s a comfort hug in a bottle.
Arielle Shoshanna Monday
My Sierra Leonean grandmother had this sacred 4 p.m. tea ritual, and while mine is more...let’s say, frequent—every hour of every day qualifies as "tea time," right?—I think that's why I’m obsessed with tea notes in perfumes. There’s something about the calming, invigorating nature of tea that’s like a sensory wake-up call. This year, I found Monday by Arielle Shoshanna, and now I wear it every Monday, like its a days of the week underwear.Just like how those perfectly chosen undies set the tone for the day, this fragrance is the olfactory equivalent of slipping into something that makes you feel ready—ready to tackle emails, meetings, or whatever the day throws at you. This scent is the embodiment of the perfect Monday morning: fresh, uplifting, and energizing—just like the first sip of English Breakfast tea. It pairs beautifully with gourmands like Bianco Latte or Delizia Di Marshmallow for that perfect Monday vibe.
Happy New Year and thanks for consuming!!
