Consumer Digest 001: October 2024
Welcome to this month’s and the very first Consumer Digest, a list of everything I consumed this month that has had a lasting impression.
A sexy London nightclub in a bottle. This vanilla perfume has the same DNA as Positano 97’ another showstopper from VBB. I ran into Violet Grey to get a whiff of 21:50 the second it dropped, during that trip to LA I had sniffed almost everything I had been foaming at the mouth to try… this was the only one that not only met but exceeded expectations. As a gourmand girl, finding something unique yet boundary-blurring can be a tough feat, especially when you are not looking to buy more perfumes lol. 21:50 just does it for me, while I would compare it in feeling to Eau Duelle or YSL’s Baby Cat, there is something, some sort of Je ne Sais Quoi that just compelled me and drags me in. At the office I had nothing shy of 5 people do a double take and ask me what I was wearing, so she is a compliment-getter.
The great lip balm war of the 2020s persists and I am still self-sabotaging by funding the machines used against me at almost any chance I get. In short, I’ve tried all the lip balms, treatments, glosses, ointments the list goes on. Despite this, the most compelling for the past few months has been the Lanolip’s Lip Ointment, particularly in the Donut scent. I am not alone in this obsession, while we were traveling my dad tried and immediately requested that I order him one!
Laurel Bakery
Oh, how I wish to be a gatekeeper but the first rule of the foodie world is to never be greedy. I will however not share what I order at risk of it being sold out hehe. Laurel is a new Cobble Hill Bakery from the owners of Oxalis. I am one of those people who genuinely misses food after they consume it, I could tear up now just thinking about how good their baked goods are. It almost led to a fight of who would get the last bite, which I of course won!]
4. Vanity Projects NYC
My cheetah print nails this month were probably my favorite accessory. They often distracted me as I could not stop staring at how perfect they looked and thinking about how talented the Nail Techs at Vanity Projects are.
